About

Kathryn Turnbull is a third-year undergraduate student at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. In her academic work, she focuses on early American history and the intersections of colonialism, gender, environmentalism, and modernity. Originally from Greenbelt, Maryland, she has lived in Burlington, Vermont, and most recently the Atlanta metropolitan area. Kathryn is deeply passionate about sustainable agriculture practices and uncovering marginalized histories. She has been published by the college for her original historical research and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society in Spring 2020. Her work with Metro Atlanta Youth Energy Corps as a grant writer has allowed her to apply her storytelling and research skills towards voter engagement, racial justice, and energy equity. Kathryn often spends her free time at the campus library, playing with her cats, and hiking in Vermont’s state forests.
